The wetlands are more what you think of when you envision Louisiana: a hot, fetid network of dark, ancient swamps and bayous, brimming with strange and dangerous fauna. In some places, the water is shallow, more a flooded forest or field than a true wetland. In other areas, the water is deep and murky, with untold dangers lurking in the depths. This habitat, and the surrounding area, is ideal for exotics used to a humid climate, as well as water-loving animals like mink and nutria. Just watch out for alligators.
